While wracking
my brain trying to figure out how to help two different massage
clients with deep hip pain - to no avail, regardless of what
I tried - I read an article in the American Massage Therapy
Association (AMTA) journal about Richard Rossiter's work. When
I read about his approach to hip pain I knew I
had found the answer!
I went
to his website and downloaded everything I could. Devoured it.
Went back and bought his book - the second one - aptly entitled
Surgery Sucks. After consuming what I could from there,
I made a third foray to his website and signed up for my first
Rossiter System Workshop. That was in 2005. It was the absolute
best workshop I'd ever taken.
Three days
of intensive 'hands on' work - both giving and receiving - gave
me the opportunity to discover that I had gradually developed
a habit of turning my upper body instead of just my head when
checking for cars in the adjacent lane, while driving. I had
NO idea I had been doing that. It had obviously developed over
a period of time. The only reason I realized it at that point
is that I no longer needed to do the 'unibody' turn! It took
months to break the habit, even. Embarrassing! So much for being
self-aware!
Since that
first workshop, I have helped many clients of all ages experience
dramatic changes in their pain levels and in their range of
motion. And that hip work... I call that my "Lazarus"
moves. They are THAT good!
You'll
just have to try it for yourself to really understand what this
work can do! Call me!
